20 January 2020 GIRI member meeting presentation

On 20th January 2020 GIRI led the new year’s members meeting at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) with 65 joining for coffee and an update on GIRI activity.

Presentations included a constructive debate around GIRI’s strategic aim and goals, including the benefits of membership, achievements to date and opportunities for the future.  Updates from the Technology and Error Frequency Ratio Working Groups. Galliford Try’s Lynden Haworth spoke about how GIRI principles are helping eliminate error in their business. Ali Mafi of Lean Thinking Ltd presented the benefits of an Accelerated Project Delivery system. Update on the CITB GIRI training programmes. GIRI’s upcoming events include a round table discussion hosted by Zurich Insurance on 10 February and a panel discussion as part of the Quality in Construction Summit on 1 July.
