Construction Product Information Ltd joins GIRI

6 Jan 26

We're delighted to introduce our first new member of 2026. Construction Product Information Ltd is the not-for-profit organisation responsible for guarding and managing the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI). CCPI aims to raise standards and promote positive culture and behaviour change in the manufacturing and supply sector around construction product information and product marketing.

The CCPI was set up by the Construction Product Association in response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of building regulations and fire safety and is now an independently governed not-for-profit organisation providing assessment against the Code and registration for product information. The initiative is working towards delivery of construction product information that is clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous. The code applies to product information however it is presented, whether it is in a brochure, a presentation, on a website or on social media.

Amanda Long, Chief Executive of CPI Ltd said: "We are delighted to join the GIRI community and have the opportunity to engage with its membership to support them in their duties and needs in relation to building safety. The Grenfell Tower fire highlighted major issues with the trustworthiness and reliability of product information. As a duty-holder, if you want to get it right then having greater confidence in the product information on which you base your decisions is critical. We look forward to engaging with GIRI members, and supporting the industry to reduce liability, the risk of ‘re-do’ and duty-holder compliance with the BSA."

The CCPI has developed two separate codes, one for manufacturers of products and the other for merchants and distributors. Additionally, the organisation has a growing list of 'demand-side supporters' helping to encourage industry engagement and uptake. The aim is that clients, specifiers and users will prefer to work with products that conform to CCPI.
