Supply Chain Sustainability School Workshop on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Cladding

2 Mar 18
The Get It Right Initiative recently attended the the Supply chain sustainability school workshop on DFMA for Cladding at Prater's offices. The in-depth and well delivered workshop provided insight into the huge advances in offsite manufacturing, and touched on the techniques that need to be adapted to make it work.

Much discussion was around the huge advantages that can be gained by offsite manufacturing. It was clear that an offsite approach needs to be included in the thinking right from the outset of the programme and that sufficient time and planning is essential to allow the process to move forward in a logical way.

The workshop's 'sufficient planning' message aligns with the Get It Right Initiative's 'Think ahead, plan re-plan, and re-plan again' approach to the management of construction industry projects.
