Steering group to drive GIRI Building Safety Act coverage

8 Jun 22

GIRI members with an interest in the forthcoming implementation of the Building Safety Act are being invited to put their names forward for a new steering group which will provide direction to GIRI on the type of advice and knowledge-sharing events that would be valuable for those seeking to avoid error in its implementation.

Executive director Cliff Smith plans to establish a panel of members with a strong professional interest in the Act, and some understanding of the impact its introduction is likely to have on businesses in the industry. This group would guide the development of strategic partnerships such as the one that has already been established with Building a Safer Future, and offer suggestions of events and workshops that would help GIRI members navigate the challenges ahead.

This initiative follows on from the recent Building Safety Act Open Forum that was organised by GIRI and Kennedys.

The group will meet on a regular basis as implementation of the act progresses, with a remit to review sector-wide progress, share their own experiences and thoughts, and discuss ideas for events or initiatives that could be pursued by the GIRI team.

Applications are invited from all GIRI member companies, with the intention that panel selection will reflect the breadth of the industry.

To express an interest in being a member of the panel, please email cliff.smith@getitright.uk.com, explaining why you wish to join and what experience, knowledge or input you would contribute.

Deadline for EOI 30th June 2022.
