More GIRI training open courses announced

Following the success of the first GIRI leadership training open course last year, open courses for both the Supervisory & Management Skills and Training Across Interfaces courses will take place in March in London.

The open course format allows individuals to book onto the training. Previously, this has only been available to companies booking training for their staff. There are 16 places available on each course.

Taking place on Tuesday 25 March, the Supervisory and Management Skills course will cover both modules of the training:

• GIRI SM-01 Reducing errors on construction sites - Part one: Supervision skills
• GIRI SM-02 Reducing errors on construction sites - Part two: Planning skills

Aimed at supervisors and managers who are directly responsible for the delivery of construction work on site, and designers with a responsibility to consider construction, the training focuses on supervision and planning skills to prevent errors during construction.

Taking place on Wednesday 26 March, the Training Across Interfaces course will also cover both modules: 

• GIRI IN-01 Avoiding construction errors at interfaces - Part one: Collaboration
• GIRI IN-02 Avoiding construction errors at interfaces - Part two: Designing for construction

The training focuses on techniques to avoid interface errors in design and construction, and would be relevant to any technical and professional staff who contribute to design (including design consultants, design managers, client representatives, quantity surveyors, planners, project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and specialist suppliers).

Both courses will take place at the Holiday Inn Regents Park, Carbuton Street, London W1W 5EE.

The Supervisory and Management Skills course is priced at £445pp for members and £470pp for non-members, while the Training Across Interfaces course is priced at £465pp for members and £490pp for non-members.

CITB-registered employers may be able to access CITB funding up to 100% of the course cost (only applicable for GIRI training undertaken before 31 March 2025). Further details can be obtained by contacting your local CITB adviser and enquiring about Fully Funded Future Skills Training.
