GIRI's Cliff Smith interviewed on CIOB's 21CC podcast

GIRI executive director Cliff Smith discussed what’s changed in the construction sector in the ten years since the founding of GIRI and what still needs to happen to reduce error and improve productivity in the latest 21CC podcast from The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

The 21CC podcast (21st Century Construction) 'goes behind the headlines to meet the people who envision, create and manage the built world'. In an episode focusing on the challenge of avoidable error, Cliff shared his views on the barriers and opportunities for change across the sector, discussing everything from procurement and competence to regulatory reforms such as the Building Safety Act.

Cliff also highlighted the importance of creating environments that empower people to 'press pause to avoid error' and the need to rebuild respect, pride and fairness in construction to provide the support and motivation to get it right first time.
