The Get It Right Initiative has added to the industry expertise of its board by appointing three new directors.

Duncan Aspin, Oana Sala and Jack Smith were appointed following a recruitment process to find new board directors from more than 100 GIRI member companies.

Duncan is director of health, safety, environment, quality, sustainability, and information management at VolkerStevin, with experience that spans the construction industry from civil engineering to behavioural change. He is also an experienced public speaker, facilitator of the SHE Show, and has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Derby, supporting students on the MSc in Behaviour Change in understanding behavioural intervention design.

Oana is senior innovation consultant at Expedition Engineering and collaborated closely with GIRI on the development of the GIRI Error Reduction Framework. She brings experience of innovation in infrastructure engineering to increase productivity and reduce carbon emissions. Oana is also a council member of the Institution of Civil Engineering.

Jack is development director at Platform and brings insight on residential, commercial office, retail, and healthcare development to the board. He has extensive experience of redeveloping buildings in conservation areas and handling neighbourhood, planning and construction matters.

GIRI's executive director Cliff Smith said: "We're delighted to welcome Duncan, Oana and Jack to the board. They bring rich and diverse experience from across the construction industry and we look forward to working with them towards our shared goal of zero error in construction."

Duncan, Oana and Jack join current board members Richard Davies (Kier), Gavin Pike (Bennetts Associates), Rupert Shingleton (Kilnbridge) and Helen Soulou (Network Rail). Damian Leydon (Sunergos Partnership) will continue to support GIRI as a member of the Strategic Leadership Group.
