Free resources from GIRI to support Building Safety Week 2025

17 Jun 25

The inaugural Building Safety Week will take place from 23-27 June. At GIRI, we're committed to improving safety across the construction sector by eliminating error.̭

GIRI has a variety of free resources to help the industry improve building safety and understand the requirements of the Building Safety Act (BSA). In December 2024, the GIRI Building Safety Act Steering Group, now the Competency & Compliance Forum, hosted a discussion on the BSA Gateway 2. Featuring presentations by Colin Blatchford from Project Four safety consultancy and Jason Devenish from Premcrete, the discussion explored the new regime, making submissions, gateway deliverables and potential challenges. The recording is available to view on the GIRI Youtube channel.

Also on our Youtube channel, you can find other building safety related resources, including webinars on passive fire protection and a joint webinar with CROSS-UK (Collaborative Reporting for Safer Structures UK) looking at approaches to confidential and voluntary safety reporting, and how this can contribute to a zero-error culture.

Our Member Knowledge Centre is our online knowledge hub collating the collective expertise of our membership on issues such as the Building Safety Act. Resources includes guidance documents, useful links and insights from government, the HSE, and industry associations.

More broadly, our research reports including the Design Guide, Insurance Guide, and technology reports provide guidance on reducing errors on construction projects, which in turn contributes to improved building safety.

Hosted by InstallerShow 2025, Building Safety Week week-long event is a joint initiative with Building A Safer Future, Code for Construction Product Information and a coalition of industry partners across the supply chain designed to highlight and address the building safety issues facing the construction sector.
