BAM delivers first in-house GIRI training course

20 Feb 24

On 24 January, two newly accredited GIRI trainers from BAM UK & Ireland, Jonathan Ward and Afsal Rasheed, delivered their first combined IN-01 & IN-02 interfaces training course to seven delegates. This was BAM’s first in-house course since the business became a GIRI Approved Training Provider, and was part of the Guildford Sewage Treatment Works project.

“I really enjoyed co-delivering the first GIRI training on avoiding construction errors at interfaces for BAM," said Jonathan. "It was great to see representatives from the client, contractor and consultant giving their perspectives, and developing the use of GIRI tools for effective communication to improve quality on the project. I look forward to seeing the benefits as the training is implemented.”

Course participants were very positive about the training, with several commenting on the way the course provides a different perspective about issues relating to error, and encourages new thinking and approaches.

"It is important to have conversations about how errors can be mitigated," said one.

Another commented: "Though we are aware that communication and coordination are key aspects for project delivery, GIRI training helps us think about how these can be used more effectively."
