The Building Safety Bill, published on 20 July 2020, has been described as the most significant piece of legislation affecting building safety in nearly 40 years.

The bill sets out a framework for a new building safety regime including the creation of a new Building Safety Regulator, the establishment of a mandatory reporting regime and new criminal sanctions for failures of compliance.

Once the Bill comes into force it is likely to have a substantial impact upon the operation of insurers writing various lines of business for the construction industry. This includes professional indemnity, CAR and D&O policies.

Paul Lowe, partner, and Natalie Keyes, principal associate, at Weightmans LLP are experts in this area. They will guide attendees through the complex legislation and answer any questions that they may have.

Registration closes at midday on Tuesday 13th October.
