Launch webinar: GIRI Guide to the Use of Technology to Reduce Errors in Design and Construction

Location: Online

Date: Tuesday 31st October 2023

Time: 9:30am - 10:30am

Technology can make a big difference to the reduction of errors in design and construction, but only if you choose the right products and systems, and implement them in a way that best brings about change.

This GIRI research report focuses on the use of technology – effectively a ‘toolbox’ of approaches that can be adopted by engineers and contractors to drive out errors and improve quality.

At this webinar we will present the findings of the research and learn about the main systems on offer – from BIM checkers to computer vision systems. Speakers will also share some of the lessons learnt about the digital maturity that is needed for implementation.

You will hear from specialists in construction technology, a construction-tech start-up founder and a contractor looking to introduce a technology-based error reduction programme. Help kick-start your use of technology in and around errors and learn what is best practice in the sector.

The report has been developed in conjunction with the C-Tech Club, which is a global community of 380 founders and CEOs of construction tech start-ups in 30 countries.

Speakers:

  • John Priestland, Managing Director, Priestland Consulting and Founder of the C-Tech Club
  • John Roberts, Engineering Director, Priestland Consulting
  • Daniel O’Donoghue, Founder and CEO, CONQA
  • Jon Hodgins, Engineering Director, Galliford Try
