GIRI/Zurich workshop: avoiding damage caused by construction fires

The fourth in our series of 'insurance insight' events hosted with Zurich Insurance focuses on avoiding damage from construction fires.

Over the last few years there has been a notable increase in the number of fires significantly affecting construction projects, in particular projects involving refurbishment of listed buildings. 

The aim of this session is to:

• Give an overview of Zurich's experiences of recent significant losses
• Reinforce industry best practice; and
• Identify further mitigation measures to reduce the risks such as
  • Strengthening hot work permit procedures;
  • Improved training; and
  • New technology
