This webinar is being hosted jointly by the Get It Right Initiative and the Passive Fire Knowledge Group.
Passive Fire Protection is usually a critical interface between the architecture, structure and MEP services. It is complex and requires careful consideration and planning at early design stages. There is a lack of knowledge around designing for PFP across all professional disciplines.
During the webinar, members of GIRI and the Passive Fire Knowledge Group will discuss various challenges around passive fire protection experienced by main contractors and provide insight into how to overcome these.
The webinar will cover:
- The lack of awareness of importance of early design of passive fire protection
- Wall compatibility checks
- Fire damper design and specification
- Design and Specification of MEP services penetrations seals
- Design responsibility challenges
- The session will include a presentation followed by a live Q&A.

Cliff Smith, Executive Director, GIRI
Paul McSoley, Vice Chair - Fire, Chartered Institution of Building Safety Engineers
Will Pitt, Technical Leader - MEICA Systems, Laing O'Rourke
